Some people say Tony Abbott isn’t so bad, some say he is a misogynist, some say he is homophobic, but many don’t focus on other important policy issues which go beneath the radar, here are just some of Tony’s deplorable intentions to which I would like to draw attention to.
"But it is even more frightening if he doesn’t break his word. True to his form he will:

aww Icona Pop’s new video is all about ball culture and it’s really nice
Icona Pop just showed the girls how to successfully appreciate a culture by letting the participants of the culture be the stars and give them the spotlight to tell their stories. And gave them that free national promo by naming names. YES!
this is beautiful. no need to appropriate. just appreciate and promote
Before you start paying attention to anything a prominent white feminist has to say, google “their name + transphobia” and “their name + racism” to see what they have to say about trans women and people of color. 99% of the time, you will save yourself so much time and energy and reading this way. That’s time you could use to do something else like play video games or jack off.
I made this blog about a year ago to try and help people to find good doctors, therapists, etc, and as a place for people to vent about and warn others of abusive and/or bigoted medical providers.
However, It’s been really inactive lately, so i’m calling for submissions and things and trying to signal boost a little.
so yeah, we’re still here~
Bringing this back around because it is Important.
daily reminder not to reblog missing people posts unless you actually know who the person in the photo is and that they really are missing, there are shitheads out there who look for people hiding from them. an abusive husband found his wife and child through such a post. they were under protected identity but he found them through a missing person post online.
holy shit noted
how can you know whether they are really missing or not? how would you confirm that?
I would think you could check the actual database: https://www.findthemissing.org/en That one is for the US at least. Anyone can add cases, but they have to be verified by police before they’re published. Hopefully an abuser wouldn’t be able to get a post up.
mini twitter essay of the day
And the Winner is (for the AXE Apollo space race contest by AXE- Malaysia) ROSE! Thanks for all the votes, as much as I DESPISE AXE and their method of advertising, I am happy that Malaysia will be sending their first woman into space and that she is very motivated, intelligent and qualified for the job.
Most people are unaware that symptoms of heart attacks in females are different than those of males. Please signal boost. (Based on this post, information from WebMD.)
Memorize this shit. No lie. You would be terrified by the number of people, even in healthcare, who have no idea that heart attack symptoms present differently for females.
I wouldn’t be alive today if my heart attack hadn’t been “male” enough that it was recognizable.
This goes for anyone whose bodies don’t fit the cis male mold.
This is totally important and relevant for cis women! Misogyny in the medical field is horrible and fucked up and can lead to a whole shitton of deaths and medical complications and the reason stuff like this isn’t well know is misogyny AGH.
BUT this kind of cissexism can really screw over trans* people, ESPECIALLY trans* women. “Female,” as used like this infographic, generally makes the assumption that “females” have ALL of the following biological characteristics:
- an estrogen based sex-hormone system
- XX chromosomes
- a uterus
- a pair of ovaries and fallopian tubes
- a whole other bunch of developmental characteristics that are usually associated with XX chromosomes
- a vagina
- lack of testes/a prostate/a penis
This assumption is hella innaccurate and misguided and cissexist and anti-intersex and ugh. We desperately NEED research into WHAT causes the difference in heart attack systems. Is it a hormone cascade involving estrogen? A Y-linked trait (not implying that’s what I think it is, just an example)? Testosterone? Some sort of uterus-produced reaction? WHAT IS GOING ON?
Does this infographic apply to trans* women who are taking anti-androgrens but not estrogren? Or who take both and still have testicles? Or a trans* person who once took hormones that aren’t normally associated with the assigned sex at birth, but now don’t anymore? Does this apply to trans* men who take testosterone and no longer have a uterus? Or what about a person with androgen insensitivity syndrome?
There’s no answer because medicine and medical research as it stands is horribly cissexist and transmisogynistic and anti-intersex and just blergh blergh blergh.
So yeah, no, this doesn’t apply to “anyone whose bodies don’t fit the cis male mold” because no one has ever bother to care enough about non-cis and non-dyadic people enough to look into what causes “sex differences.”
Same goes for transmen who may have a typically ‘female’ heart attack, or may not?
People with intersex conditions?
And then there are cisgender women who have typically male heart attacks
And there might be cisgender men who have typically female heart attacks, not sure about that one.
I agree with the fact that we need research on this but when it comes to education, how about we stop the male-focussed education of heart attacks, and simply teach people to recognize ALL symptoms as things that occur in PEOPLE having a heart attack.
